Our Story

E.S.O.R. is an acronym created by reversing the name of our founder's grandmother, Rose Maranda Jarvis-Stiens, and symbolizes the enduring legacy of a woman characterized by remarkable strength, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to family values. Residing with our founder, his sister, and his father during a pivotal period of his childhood, Rose Maranda's impact was profound. A mother of seven and grandmother of twelve, she endured the heartbreaking loss of two husbands and three children yet never ceased to love and provide.

Following the unexpected death of her first husband, Rose ventured into entrepreneurship, owning a delicatessen on Farwell Avenue, north of Ogden, in a bid to sustain the family. Despite her efforts, the business faced closure due to the inadvertent sale of beer to minors shortly after its inception. Undeterred, Rose transitioned to a role as the head cashier and bookkeeper at Kohl's food store in the 1950s, later joining the Goldberg Family at the Grand clothing stores in 1960.

After the passing of her second husband in 1964, Rose initially took a temporary position at Pabst's accounting offices before securing a permanent role in the Pabst Credit Union, where she displayed enduring strength and leadership over fifteen years. Returning to school at 50, she earned a certificate in credit union leadership. Rose's enduring legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  On July 18th, 1996, Rose Maranda Jarvis Stiens departed, leaving a profound legacy of resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to family.
